Product Introduction
Calcium chloride is a salt composed of chlorine and calcium, and the chemical formula is CaCl₂. It is a typical ionic halide and is a white solid at room temperature. Its common applications include salt water used in refrigeration equipment, road ice deicing agents and desiccants. Because it easily absorbs water in the air and delists, anhydrous calcium chloride must be stored in a sealed container. Anhydrous calcium chloride, its hydrates and solutions have important applications in food manufacturing, building materials, medicine and biology.
Physical Property
1.Colorless cubic crystal, is white or off-white. There are granular, honeycomb block, spheroid, irregular granular, powdered. Strong moisture absorption. It is easy to delique when exposed to air.
2. It is easily soluble in water and emits a lot of heat (dissolution enthalpy of calcium chloride is -176.2cal/g), and its aqueous solution is slightly acidic. Soluble in alcohol, acetone, acetic acid. Reacting with ammonia or ethanol, CaCl2·8NH3 and CaCl2·4C2H5OH complexes were formed.
3. At low temperature, the solution crystallizes and precipitates into hexahydrate, which is gradually dissolved in its own crystalline water when heated to 30℃, and gradually loses water when heated to 200℃, and becomes white porous anhydrous calcium chloride when heated to 260℃.
Chemical Property
chemical equation
Soluble calcium chloride can be used to prepare some insoluble calcium compound precipitate:
3 CaCl2(aq) + 2 K3PO4(aq) →Ca3(PO4)2 (s) + 6 KCl (aq)
After calcium chloride electrolysis, pure calcium can be obtained:
CaCl2 →Ca(s) + Cl2(g)
Application
Anhydrous calcium chloride has a wide range of applications, including brine used in refrigeration equipment, road ice melting agent and desiccant, but also can be used as road integration agent, fogging agent, fabric fire retardant agent, food preservatives and used in the manufacture of calcium salts.
